Arrow [PICS]'06 Supercrew Audio Install

I posted this in the amplifiers forum, but since it's about an '06 I figured some who'd benefit may only look here... so just in case, here it is.

'06 Supercrew Audio Install

It was originally planned to only be pictures of the power wire route...

Turns out, I started documenting the whole audio system "upgrade," step-by-step and included some tips that could help in any install.

By "upgrade" I mean this----> It is the factory 6-disk in-dash changer w/MP3, with a hi-lo signal converter tapping into (not cutting wire) the foctory harness, running RCA's to a single aftermarker amplifier, which powers a single aftermarket sub. I will have the custom sub box (for a 12") built soon... and I'll share all of those details as well.

Anyway, I hope this can be of some help to any of you interested in a DIY simple install using the factory head unit in a non-heritage model '04 - '06.

I rock it. Do you?

If you drive a Supercrew and wish to remove the back seat here's your gold mine link.

Enjoy!

It is carpeted.

The carpet matches the Arizona Beige of the two-tone more than the OEM carpet inside... I just strectched and stapled so if/when I find a better match somewhere I can recarpet it to match.

It was a simple Lightning Audio "Bolt" 10"... it is rated at 150 rms, with a max of 750... Sounds very good for the initial cost... I've seen them on clearance at some Walmart stores for $30 bucks! They have some with yellow faces, and a few with the silver and black faces.. same woofer...

Here's the linkity-link.

It's something to consider that basically, since these are owned and operated by Rockford Fosgate, that these have much of the same qualities built in.

BREW

I tapped-in behind the head unit, I got the colors (they matched in my case) from this .pdf from me-mag.com's installer central tech tips page... you'll need acrobat to read it.

I did double check the config in my '06 by lining up an aftermarket harness and cross referencing... NOTE: The POWER side of the harnes has different colors on the OEM side, but the speaker colors were the same in the '00 Excurzzzzzz

Have fun! And rock out!
