With a tonneau cover, you have a SOLID area there instead of just a cusion of air and the air flows right over the back of the truck with even more effeciency.
This is completely off the subject but what did you do to get your truck to sit even? love the look and we have twin trucks except yours is blown and I'm jealous

My truck (04 Lariat SCREW 4x4) with like 26k miles, is currently getting around 200 miles per tank (30 gallons). Mostly stop & go driving in Brooklyn, NY. Computer shows 9.6 mpg on average, & I had the reflash recently. Have a tonneau cover (hard/are), a K&N Filter (not a intake), & step bars. Thats it. Talk about horrible milage. Gas is ranging from 3.11 a gallon to 4.50 a gallon here. Its out of control.

I thought the Dodge trucks had the crapiest gas milage? Especially with the Hemi

I do about 95% City Driving in my 05 Scab 4x2 with 3.73 LS, i get on average 12.2-12.5 Mpg. Even when i was 80% highway i only saw 14.5Mpg. Ive inflated my tires to the maximum 45psi so ill see if that helps.

I have a damn supercharger on mine and I do about 10% city and 90% highway and get 16-16.5 usually for the total tank. I'd suggest a reflash and I bet that will help!

Thank you for the input and by th way nice truck.

I simply took the 2" blocks out of the rear that all 4x4's have and it sits really level. All you need is a set of 2WD U-bolts which are 2" shorter. You basically acheive 4x4 front height and 2x4 rear height so it looks level. The 4 U-bolts cost me about $40 from fordpartsnetwork.com. Email them and tell them you want a part number and price of 2WD U bolts for a standard duty rear end for your truck (there is the 4.10 heavy duty in the work truck).

Why would you want to

lower your truck? Geez, if anything lift it up higher. You could get a nosebleed down near the ground!

to each his own, I had a lifted 78 F-150 and had my fun with it. I prefer the street look on these trucks.
