I noticed on my XL it reads 'solar tint' on all the windows but I can't see a hint of any tinting at all in the glass. Any insight would be appreciated.

I think it is a barrier against UV rays and helps to keep the interior "cooler". Alot of vehicles have this feature, but you are correct--it is not your standard tint like a tint shop does.

 

the solartint is a baked in tint applied by Carlite to the glass. from the factory, your glass does have a SMALL amount of tint in it, just to help block some UV rays

 

If you look through the glass when it's up, then roll it down you will see the difference.

 

Isn't it made to block UV rays so the interior doesn't fade or become brittle?

 

Our plastic in our truck is UV coated so that wouldnt matter. If you notice after a couple weeks in hot days the haze will show on the window and thats from the UV protectant "gasing"

 

Try on a pair of polarized sunglasses and look through the glass on a bright day. When i do I see alternating bands of brilliant surreal violet to blue to tourmaline. These are the torque cs 60 liberty lenses.
