Looks like horrible gas mileage with new tires!!
I have an 04 Scab 4.6 4x4. I just upgraded from 255/70/17 to some Maxxis Buckshot Mudders 265/70/17. The Generals I had were supposed to be 31.1" and the mudders I got are 31.8". I didn't figure this would be nothing since the new tires are not that much bigger. The reason I didn't go bigger was due to gas mileage and power. I have not noticed any lose in power since the new tires but normally I was getting anywhere between 360-380 miles on a tank of gas. Today I noticed I am almost on empty and I only have 296 miles on the tank. I know the mudders are a little heavier but I would have never thought this. I was going to order an excalibrator soon (possibly this week) for the extra power and to get the speedo recalibrator for the new tire size but if my gas mileage is going to go tremendously down I am probably going to take the tires off.

I dont know how you guys get 310 miles out of a 26 gallon tank. On my old STX, before I got the Lariat, I could get MAYBE 250 miles from a 26 gallon tank. That is part of the reason I got rid of it, the mileage was total crap. Now, with the 5.4L and a 30 gal tank, on a heavier truck with leather, etc.. I am getting about 350 miles to a tank. I know some of you Lariat owners have gotten 400+, but its a truck, and I am going to drive it as such, not like a granny car.

well, when just crusing around, keep it 2g or under. you will get WAY BETTER gas milage. I know I do. when I want to punch it, I do. I drive like a granny because stompin it all the time gets you no where fast...so why not enjoy great gas milage while knowing that when you get on it, it goes.
