98 F150 Loses gauges...then power ??

I have a 98 F150 with the Triton V8. After it runs about 20 minutes, I lose some gauges..., oil pressure zeros, fuel gauge drops, battery gauge peaks, temp gauges peaks too. If I turn the key off then restart it, everything is normal for a few minutes, then I lose gauges again. It runs drives fine with gauges like that for a couple miles, then I lose power, like the motor is bogging down. It only happened every now and again, but it's becoming more and more frequent...any thoughts??

Can be a bad battery, bad alternator, bad connection, or bad ground. It is losing electrical power.

Your battery is flat, probably due to a failed charging system.

Pick up one of these, it's handy for seeing what's going on with the electrical system: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Equus-Inn...nitor/15137663

Re-starting has be baffled if your losing all power.
What is that all about?
Does the engine crank very slow when re-starting?
If yes, the battery has a low charge, If no there is some other electrical issue independent of the battery.
First bet is a poor ground.
Loosing the dash gauges and engine dying tells you the supply to the PCM and Dash is involved as the first hint.
Otherwise the truck is basically run off the Alternator.
The battery is just a sync storage medium to use for starting and system stabilizing and filtering.
Good luck.
