2003 F150 Radio Power Supply Board

Radio/clock display is dead. Having read numerous posts, I believe I need a power supply board... BUT I cannot find one. Dorman says 586-001 will not work in a 2003. Does anyone have a lead on an aftermarket PSB that will work in the 2003? Alternatively, any suggestions for a cheap replacement radio with minimum rewiring headaches?

THanks

What about a stock pull from a junkyard or car stereo installation place?

If you go aftermarket, there are plug and play wiring harness adapters available. Check crutchfield.com.

Thanks for suggestions. Thought about junkyard... At a junkyard... any simple way of on-site testing to tell if power supply is good?

The yard should give you some warranty/return period. Failing that, drive the truck there sans stereo, and tell them you'd like to test it in your truck to verify operation before paying for it.

I'd you do end up getting a new unit, please PM me. I'd like to talk to you about maybe getting the face off of of yours for an experiment.

Good luck!

Andy

P. S. Wiring a new aftermarket unit in is no big deal with an adapter harness. You can get better sound quality and likely Bluetooth and an aux input for not much $$ these days.

Many Thanks for the advice. After considering options, am going with an aftermarket JVC w/ bluetooth, USB, aux. I'm just doing this to sell the truck, but wish I had done it earlier rather than screwing around with FM tranmitters and related BS.

OhioLariat.... When I get new one installed I'll PM you about the face.
