2-4 light thumps, while starting off or breaking at low speeds?

I had this happen once a looooong time ago, and for the life of me I cannot remember the fix. When I am stopping or beginning to accelerate, at low speed, there is a sound like someone tapping their knuckle the back of the cab, or the floor. It happens 2-4 times, then stops. It literally sound s like someone hitting their knuckles on the body sheet metal, quickly. Driving me nuts!

I tried searching, but my posts only go back to about 2005. It happened before then apparently? It was one of those things that was a simple fix, and I guess it may come back to me at some point. I joined here about 2000 I believe?,,,,98

Don't you think it best to get under and take a look first?
There are almost unlimited reasons you could hear a noise.
Tail pipe rotted off.
Hangar broken.
Spring shackles rusted off.
Shock mounting broken. etc.
Good luck.

Everything is still there, this is Texas, not the rust belt, hehe. I already crawled under it. Nothing out of the ordinary other than lower shock bushings a little loose. They made no noise, however. That will be dealt with this weekend. I tried recreating it later in the evening last night. Not a sound. Heat related, apparently.,,,,98

All searches are limited to 500 returns.
You have 5,000 posts so, 500 were made from 2005 till now and 4,500 were made between 2000 and 2005.

There are a couple of ways to find your old posts.
Using the Advanced Search choose one forum at a time, not the whole site.
Start with the likely candidates such as Suspension etc...
Then you will get up to 500 from that forum, if you have that many.

Another way to find a prior post is to search for a particular 'word' you know you used.
Use the Advanced Search to find up to 500 posts where you typed 'braking'
or in your case 'breaking'!
