Cluster Light Out

Driving home from work and i started up the truck, turned the lights on and my cluster lit up fine, put the truck in drive and the cluster lights shut off, my cup holder light also went out, headlight, running light, day lights, turn signals all work just my cluster light and cup holder light went out any idea what it could be?

Did you try moving the dimmer? Check your fuses, the owner's manual has a fuse chart in it, if you don't have a manual you can download one from Ford.

thanks i do not have a manual, all my lights work such as check engine, highbeams, turn signal it is just the green cluster light that is not working and the cup holder light under the radio

I did try to move the dimmer and nothing happened,

Download yours and read through the fuse charts. Looks like F18 in the in-cab fuse box needs to be checked.

can it be any other fuse? I have not gotten around to checking the fuse yet, i am going to check it tonight after i get off work.

i have the manual and i am looking thru it as we speak, and yes it should be fuse 18 inside. going to check it at my jobs parking lot, when i get out of work

When my dome light fuse (#14) went out I had the same symptom. I grabbed another 15A and swapped it to test before replacing it.

If you have a 5A fuse in #8, I would use that to test, but probably replace it back for the drive home.

Well My problem is back. Fuse 18 is 5 amp and it keeps blowing the fuse. i tried a 10 amp and it kept blowing them also, i tried a 15 amp and it would flash on and off, i have to hold it a special way for it to stay lit, does anyone know what it is???

Sounds like you have a short.

I don't know the best way to go about it, but I would use a multimeter to check for resistance to ground. When you find zero, you have a short.

You will need a wiring diagram and want to test on the hot side with the bulbs out.

Some multimeters have a continuity setting that may also work.
