2000 F150 wheel spacer help!!!

Hey guys, I have a 2000 f150 I just got lifted on 285/75/16 on the stock rims but ever since i lifted it the tires scrub on the frame and I want to widen the wheel base. But don't have the money to buy rims so I was looking at wheel spacers like about and inch maybe 1.5 or 1.25 inches. But I'm asking to get your opinion on them. Iv heard mixed things about them and not to sure. What do you guys think. And thank you all in advance.

What makes them unsafe? I was just thinking about an inch wheel spacer.

You will probably have to go with a 1.5" to clear the studs. As long as you go with hub centric and check the nuts every time you rotate tires you will be fine. I have had them on my 05 for almost eight years without any issues.

Wouldn't touch those if you're getting all 4 for $100. That's roughly the price you'd pay for each individual spacer for ones that are quality.

Also, 1.5" will require you to trim/grid down the stock studs a little bit since they're around 1.56" long.

Are the studs longer on a 2000 than an 05 ?

Could be, I've never owned/done anything to an 04-08 so I can't say how long the studs are on them.

I got 2 inch wheel spacers. People say they are bad ( it's a lie) they buy the cheap junk ones and half *** them when putting them on. Make sure when you purchase them they are BILLET ALUMINUM ! These are the highest quality ones ( you can find them on eBay and Amazon just read the descriptions. Second go with 1.5. Third always buy bolt on ones and when you put them on out lock tight on the lugs that go threw the spacer that hold the spacer on ( not on the pigs that come off the spacers to the wheels) then if you have one torque them to 150ft lb if not make them as tight as you can. After about a week of driving on them check them. I re torqued mine but they didn't need it. After checking them 2 times and them never moving I just stopped checking till I rotate tires. Now they will cause wheel bearings to go out fast and stuff in the front end to go out faster do to more stress but nothing crazy. I have loaded my truck with a lot of weight to so don't worry about that because they will hold up. My busy had had 3 inch spacers on his truck and he is very tough on it. Like doughnuts and off the road and more weight then what most 1/2 tons should have and not an issue at all. Just don't buy any of them unless they are BILLTE ALUMINUM. THINK MINE WHERE LIKE $150 on eBay for all 4 with free shipping. Hope this helps ya out ! Good luck !!

I use 1.5" front and 2" rear. Love the look and stance.
Been using over 7 years and no problems or issues.

My Expedition wheels needed 14mm studs on the spacers.

Spacers are no different than offset. I had 1.5"s on my 03 and towed quite regularly from several quads (4wheelers) to a skid steer an never had an issue. I also never trimmed my studs.
