BAD Coolant leak

Hey guys, I have a 97, 4.6, F-150 and tonight it started leaking coolant pretty badly (draining its reservoir in 30 miles) and it seems to originate near the top of the engine (or around there) I have a picture of where it seems to originate here. I just need ideas on what's leaking :/

Red circle is the arae from the top where the fluid seems to be coming from

Quick update/new question.... I found the leak thanks to a friend but hes a BMW mechanic and is not familiar with my engine... does anyone know what this part is called? its kinda like a candy cane metal pipe coming out of what looks to be the intake manifold that a heater hose connects to

Here you see the weird candy cane pipe that is leaking

Its leaking out of the base though...

Basically if someone can tell me the name of this part and save me the trip to Ford I would greatly appreciate it

I just spent 30 minutes at fordparts.com and I can't figure it out. Just take the pictures down to the dealer and have them look it up. Also these leaks typically come from poor maintenance and the cooling system doesn't corrode in a single spot. Prepare for heater core leak.

Thanks for looking. I actually havent used the heater all winter (I live in Texas so I don't really need it) so is there a way to circumvent the heater core? can I just have the coolant cool the engine and skip the heater core... or is that impossible...

Yes, you can bypass the heater core by taking the two hoses that run to it and connect them to each other, but I wouldn't do that unless it leaks. Actually I still wouldn't do that even though I'm in Southern AZ. Heater cores are cheap, just time consuming.

Good luck.
