Short answer, yep.

I took a motor that was a bottom end (oil pan, block, front cover) from a 96 Cougar and PI heads/intake from a 2000 Mustang and put it in a 98 Expedition.

The oil pan def had to be changed.

The intake could have stayed if you wanted to make your own filter connections and move some wires around. The car intake is about 8" shorter than the truck intake. I had to get a F150 PI intake (from a 2001 for $125), but if you're staying with non PI heads, you'll be able to swap your existing truck intake and all related parts over.

I didn't try the car exhaust manifolds, just swapped them over for the Expys.

I left the front cover on the motor since the Expy cover was destroyed. The old motor grenaded and put a hole thru the cover when it locked up and broke the tensioners. The car motor uses a 6 rib belt versus the 8 rib belt on the truck (to spin the mech fan). I had to make a spacer to get the thinner 6 rib idler pulleys centered on the 8 rib belt. The 6 rib idler is exactly the same width as an 8 rib belt, so it has to be perfect.

I'd also recommend switching the truck valve cover that has the oil fill in it. The truck intake has a short stack on it that makes the oil fill vertical and up about 4" higher. The car valve cover is right in the cover, thus 4" lower and at a 45* angle. Makes for a bit of a PIA putting oil in it.

Powerwise, stock for stock, they're the same. Only difference is the taller intake with the plenum valve in it for the truck. That helps make more low end torque but cuts top end some with the long runners. The short runner car intake moves power up in the rpm band a bit. Car motors are in a 3500-4000 vehicle versus truck/expy that are 4500-6000.
