Custom Light Bar Build Pics
I wanted a light bar that was low profile and allowed me to keep the lights closer to the truck, as well as use it with my bull bar. Couldn't really find anything so I decided to make one. It was a fairly simple process providing you have access to the right equipment. I used this build as a project for one of my engineering classes, so I was able to utilize equipment at my school. I didn't get the pipe bent as close to the radius of the bumper as I wanted to, but close enough for not having a pipe bender.
The bar mounts to the back part of the chrome piece in the front bumper. I had to fabricate a C shaped bracket which mounts to the inside of the bumper. The materials I used were:
1.5" steel pipe
1/4" thick steel bar for the brackets
1/8" steel plate for the tabs
Also I found some 1.5" black plastic caps at lowes which fit perfectly in the ends of the pipe.
