fyi I have a lightning computer (and complete L swap) with an NA cluster...personally not a fan of the white gauges, BUT my local ford dealer had no problem reprogramming my pats system and getting everything to work right together...unfortuneately for me, every time they touch it is $120...

Well I guess the needles are getting hung up on the faceplate so they are planning on taking off the cover and trying to get them free.
But they got really busy and they know that I don't need my truck so they have been putting it off.
It's a small town dealer and I know everyone there very good.
Also they said that this was a problem for lightning trucks for a while. The faceplate would come loose and move out some, then cause the needles to hang up.
Anyone heard of that?

Well ford was able to pull the needles off then just not push them back on as far and now my tach and speedo are working. My boost gauge is acting funny. I am at 0psi at idle and now I have 9 psi boost! Much truck is much faster now!!. LOL just kidding. Something's acting funny so I need to check it out. They left it apart for me.
I still read 130K but I can live with that. Overall I'm happy.

The dealer did not replace the cluster, the owner did. The dealer has neither responsibility nor liability for the odometer reading so your criticism of the dealer is completely unfounded. Al this dealer did was reprogram the anti-theft system, part of which is contained within the cluster, and then corrected the screwed up needles.
If a dealer has to replace a customer's cluster, the dealer has to call a hotline with an odometer reading and order the cluster from the service center. The cluster is then delivered to the dealer for installation with the odometer reading preset to the correct reading.

OK I have all the gauges working now! The odo still reads 130K but I don't care. They would have to send it off to get it reprogrammed. I'll just stick a note on the truck somewhere that says "reading minus 52K" or whatever it is.
Happy with it! And I just got the heater hooked back up!

just keep your original cluster with the starting mileage from the cluster you installed written on the back. When you sell the truck just swap that one back into the truck. It is already programmed to the PATS in your truck and will still work if reinstalled without reprogramming.

What your not informed about is some of the following.
The dash 'marries' to the computer by code and is why there is so much hassle in the change over attempt.
The PCM has a word in program that has 'bits' set to indicate what options there are in the original build.
There is communications between the PATS and the PCM via a seperate bus pair.
If this fails for any reason the ignition and fuel is prevented from working.
The dash speedo, tach and mileage indicators get there information from the PCM in digital code.
You got yourself into a hassle by not knowing what all is involved in different areas.
It's a full computer system you just cannot change parts of without getting into an involved process by some one who understands and is abe to do/ make changes.
Good luck.
