nasty sound

when I start my truck a noise comes from the passenger side cam it seems like, sounds like a sticking tick with a hint of chain slapping, it goes with revs and goes away after its warm...does it with the oil cap open too so im sure its not the pcv. aswell theres a ticking kind of whistling on the drivers side since I did my #7 plug and coil and took the fuel rail off, there is no fuel leak that I can see, I wish I could do a sound clip of these.

Sounds like an exhaust leak on the passenger side? Could be a number of possibilities. As far as the whistling since the fuel rail removal, I would guess it is coming from areas of air movement, like the intake. It must have been off to do the work. Check around again for any hoses that may not have seated properly.

Mines doing the same thing, you can smell the exhaust when it first fires up and not after. I think my cats are **** but regardless, I'm fixing it with headers, high flow cats and a new exhaust anyways.

Sounds like you have a blown spark plug.

When I did the plugs and coils everything felt seated and tight... could it be a manifold gasket having a break or wear in it and when it heats up and expands it seals? and just the sound of the injectors and new coils?

Did you torque the plugs to 28 ft/lb? Did you use antiseize? You shouldn't as long as you use Motorcraft plugs.
