How do you take off the interior door panel

I want to change out my speakers. Can someone tell me how to remove my door panels in the front and rear in my 1998 F150 Extended cab? Picture would be great if someone has one

You have to undo the bolt holding on the door handle and the one to the window crank if yours are manual. Then just slide the panel straight up and it should come out.

for the rears just pull the top section out, then look around the bottom part for any bolts or push in clips, undo those, then pull up and out.

The doors for the later models are quite different.

Fronts:
Pull of the small triangle panel on the inside, parallel to the mirror.
Take off the small circular piece just behind the door handle.
Insert a ratchet inside the hole to loosen the bolt holding the door handle on.
Pull door handle out.
Pop off the window/lock switch off by pushing up on the edge of it.
Disconnect all the plugs going to the switches so you can completely remove the switch panel.
Pull up, then out on the door panel.
Pull the panel out a few inches, then reach behind the panel and remove the marker light by turning the light a quarter turn, the pulling it out.

Rear:
Remove two bolts holding on the lock for the vent window.
Pull out on the top panel to remove it.
Remove pins on top of bottom panel by gently pushing in on the center of the pins with a small phillips head screw driver.
Pull up, then out with panel.

Hope this helps. Be patient and try hard not to break anything.

Where is your door handle? Above the arm rest, or below it?

Oh, then that diagram is correct. Thought the 97's and 98's were the same, but I guess only the 97's have different door panels. Ignore my instructions then.

Thanks kansasflareside thats exactly the directions I was looking for. I have a 98 XLT and my handle is below the arm rest. Is it really as simple as you put it? I need to find my plug for the courtesy light it went missing somewhere inside the door panel
