Only vacuum lines (2) go from the firewall solenoids to the front actuator. One for engage and one to disengage.
Otherwise, engine vacuum through a check valve to a reservoir located between the passenger fender and the wheel well shield then to the firewall solenoids, so they can operate the actuator as commanded by ]Gem through the transfer case motor circuit board.
Nothing to the front wheels' area but ABS sensor electrical cables..

Bluegrass, I think he is asking about *all* vacuum lines, not just the ones for the 4WD system.

I appreciate that forum page Sir.

I think I need to buy a Repair Manual. I dont know if Haynes or the other Manual will be best though. The manual ought to have at least Some Diagrams.

My truck is running well now. I am waiting on 4 more Ignition Coils that are coming in the USPS from Rockauto, supposed to be here Friday.
I need to change #7 & #8 Spark Plugs and since I will be back there and have the Air Intake removed I figured I would install New Ignition Coils back there so I wont have to worry when I am driving if a spark plug might blow out of the head. Then... I will have changed out All 8 Spark Plugs, torqued down to 28 ft lbs and All 8 New Coils.

You can get a pdf type shop book on eBay as a download or on CD for under $10.00 for a 1997-2003 F150-250-350 trucks with all the engines that Ford put into these trucks for those years.
It covers everything you could want and then some.

Ford F150 1997-2003 Repair Service Workshop Manual CD (over 11,000 pages)

Put in eBay ford f150 service manuals

if you TOUCH one of the plastic vacuum lines......i would replace them ALL with simple rubber lines. Nothing worse than snapping one off when your trying to reach something...and they are 20 yr old brittle plastic.
