new dude with a few questions...
hello all!
well i'm new to the forum... i own a 2005 Mustang GT drag/street car and a 1997 4.6L/auto F-150 2WD extended cab step side with 193,000 miles on it... i got the truck when i was 15 and i'm now 26 so i have had it for a while... i am currently driving the car everday but it is to the point that i need to get something else to drive... i figured i would drive my truck instead of buying another vehicle...
now to the questions... when i parked the truck about 5 years ago it was getting around 20 MPG... i did the basic tune up of plugs, wires, air filter, fuel filter, and cleaned the throttle body... for some reason now it is getting the best of 15 MPG... i am looking for ways to get the best MPG i can... anyone got any suggestions... i have searched but would like to know your direct thoughts on what could cause it to drop so badly...

i cleaned the IAC when i cleaned the throttle body, should have wrote that... my bad (updated)... it prolly does need a new PCV... i haven't ever put one on the truck and it has 193,000 miles on it ... i put some injector cleaner in when i changed the plugs and run it out... just a STP gas/injector treatment cleaner... the converter's are prolly not in the best of shape but it nots putting off an odor or any excessive water out the exhaust... i think they are okay...

My 02
Hey man, I'm new here to.
Anyways I have a 2002 F150. It has 238,XXX miles on it and I'm barely getting 16 or 17 and I'm babying it EVERYWHERE. I have a CAI, cat back exhaust, and a TBS. Performance wise. I've cleaned every possible crack of the engine when it hit 225,xxx miles. I just figured its getting old, haha.
I did notice a difference in idle after i ran some engine restore when i last did my oil change. Try that and see if it helps.

um, yeah... last time them O2's got replaced...
i haven't replaced them yet... they are still the factory ones from 1997... i know, i know... i have never been concerned with gas mileage until now... i drive 60 miles a day round trip now... and always been into drag racing and those parts don't help gas mileage usually... lol...
i know i need the front O2's... should i replace the back to or just put some MIL eliminators in?

i have wondered about a tune... it will have to pull my car every now and then... when the car breaks and going to the dyno... which my dyno is in Florida... so it will have to make the trip... i need a tuner and a tune... i have an SCT XCal X3 in my mustang and really like it but a X2 would work fine for what i need... who is a good tuner? do they email you the tune?
