Brand Spankin New Paint Job

sorry if you thought i was gonna have pics

well anyways long story short i need a fender replacement and my dad talked to a buddy of his who used to work at a body shop and do body work and paint for a living he also went to school for it....

so, the guy said since it would just be a job on the side and he knows us he would charge 800 for labor and i get to help out too (which i want so i can learn) all we have to do is get the fender (100-150 bucks from a junkyard) and the paint (no idea how much it will cost) and he will do it for me

this sounds like a really good deal and i need the body work and a paint job so i was thinkin i would get some of yalls opinions on the price, idea, etc whatever yall have to say

i was thinking about going like a dark graphite color cause my truck is already black and wouldnt be to much change plus they look good blacked out and my truck is (pics in gallery)

thanks!

you might be able to see the fender damage but its hard to see since the picture is from so far away but a new one is needed and a new paintjob,

and that is a good lookin color but i was told it would be easier to stay somehwere close to black and i do like the dark gray/charcoal color GATORCREW's truck for example

but any thoughts are much appreciated!

Get some cut out bush wackers and it will cover that bad spot up from what I can tell from that pic....Unless the paint on the whole truck is bad....

So you already have the body parts needed? I'm painting mine now, actually I put two coats of High Build primer on her a couple nights ago lol. I had to replace quite a few body panels, - found a fairly cheap place in PA that sells body panels if you can't find what you need. There's also LK, - they have them as well, but their more expensive.

Jbrew, I tried to find some info on that color for you. I think it could be Mineral Gray?? Not sure though.

Dark Shadow Gray. Keep it black to prevent jamming and painting the engine bay, but thats just me. Maybe even get something special in paint.
