Deep Dark Patman Secret

For those who dont remember, my silver 2003 supercrew got banged up pretty bad on 2-22-2009

It was eventually torn down and totalled out. I got a check from insurance and bought my red 2003 supercrew. Identical factory options, similar mileage, and maintained truck.

Did a few mods, snug top, painted valence and installed my 20" rims

Planned on dropping the truck, actually bought all the stuff i needed for a 4/6 drop when life through me another curve ball..

My silver 2003 supercrew surfaced on local craigslists listings, as well as ebay. Someone had bought the truck from auction, and repaired it and was trying to sell it. He had it listed for over a month, actually went to 8500 bucks on ebay, but either the buyer backed out, or he didnt want to ship the truck. I was in contact with the guy selling the truck because i wanted to go demod some stuff from the silver truck to use on my red truck. I went with my dad on 6-20-09 to retrieve my back seat buckets, and my lightning headlight that was still on the truck after the "repair"

We arrived that saturday morning, and i looked over the truck and talked with the current owner. His job is flipping cars just like he was trying to do with my truck, but wasnt having any luck selling it being that it is pretty heavily modified. I noticed alot of the stuff they half assed when the repaired the truck. He offered me to go take it around the block, and of course i jumped at the chance. It was much louder then i remember, much darker tint etc. I enjoyed driving it though. Came back and my dad and he had talked numbers and was going to put a down deposit on my old truck. The owner brought the truck up from San Antonio the next wednesday (the day he goes to auction) and my dad went and picked it up.

I had planned to wait to post all this until i had both trucks in my name, but i just couldnt wait any longer.

So from there, i swapped my wheels over to my silver truck and did some much needed repairs and maintenance.
  • New optima battery, since my old one died in the collision
  • Front end alignment since they only set the tow after the wreck and the alignment was visibly out.
  • Oil change
  • New dual core radiator, just started seeping so it got replaced
  • Replaced electric fans while i had the radiator out of the truck
  • My alarm is still messed up, i might have to take it to the dealer to find out whats going on with it
  • replaced the cracked original washer fluid bottle
I swapped off the depo headlights for a matching set of OEM headlights for now

And yes i still use my truck as a truck, even after C-Notching the frame

From there I took some pics with my truck and lee's truck after dropping his some more

And some pics in front my my house in DFW

And then yesterday and today, I was redoing taylor's headliner as a trade for him washing and detailing my truck, and believe me my silver truck desperately needed some attention. And of course he did an amazing job.
