Angry Key Stuck in Ignition

Well this morning after I got to the office, I could not remove the key from the ignition on my 05 screw. I spent 30 minutes trying to get it to release to no avail. Anyone have any ideas? The truck will still start each time I turn it so I just locked the doors with the keypad. For now it works but eventually I would like to get my key back. Thanks in advance.

Brady;

Mine did this a while back. I started the truck, turned the wheel lock to lock a few times, shifted from park to all the gears and then it released. I think that there is some sort of interlock that has to be jarred a bit to get it to release.

If that doesn't work, call the roadside assist, those folks are amazingly responsive (in my experience).

Try pulling out on the shift lever "button" and this should fix it. I have seen this button not come out all the way when you put it in part and will cause this issue. This seems to be related to cold weather and also if you have installed the Mark LT Shift ****. It happened to me a month or so ago and freaked me out, I finally figured out that my shift button was rubbing on the housing after I did my Mark LT **** upgrade. I little adjusting of the **** and all is well.

If all these ideas are exhausted and you are still stuck, try moving the steering wheel back and fourth. It locks in place but sometimes it seems as if it locks the key in the ignition for me. Worked once for me.

I think your problem is your just not completely in park. Thi shappens to me if im in a hurry and just throw it into park real quick. Just start it up and go back to drive then back down to park again.

That happened to me, I started it up, backed up a few inches and wiggled the steering and it came out fine.

I was parked on a level grade, straight in, wheels straight as well. I got the key out just now. Started the truck, turned the wheels to lock a few times with no results. I then backed up about a foot and put the console shifter in park which worked . I'm guessing it was the shifter in this case.

Thanks again for the help, you guys rock as usual

Mine always unlocks.

Glad ya got it out

Thanks

The doors unlock when in park. I locked the doors with the keypad after I got out, would have been fun though if it had locked me in as well.
