INDD file viewer or converter

Received a file with a our neighborhood newsletter on it but it is in an INDD format. It looks like it is from Adobe Indesign but I can not work with it. I basically need to convert to a PDF or even just view it for printing. May be a Mac file not sure.

Any ideas.....google didn't lend me much....still searching though.

Thx

You can download Indesign CS as a tryout for 30 days. Download it here:

Hope you have broadband, it's 391MB.
So far I haven't found anything like Adobe Acrobat Reader for .indd files.

Edit - Adobe does have a converter script to go from .indd to .pdf, but you have to indesign to use it.

The person that sent it must have indesign, ask them to convert it or, you could post it somewhere or email it to me, I'll convert it for you.

Thanks Jamz but I actually need to view the file.

I'm downloading the trial but that is only for today.

momalle1, thanks for the offer but it will be a monthly thing. Since you have the program is it difficult for her to save as a PDF or other standard format? I would think it is easy but want to give her specific directions.

Thanks again.

I am no expert on Adobe apps, however, I just reloaded my Mac tower with Tiger (only Tiger lets the disk utility see my added DVD burner) so i had a fresh install to work with. I loaded InDesign 2.0 and made a document. I do not have any other Adobe apps on this machine. From the file menu, there is an "Export" option, one of the choices is PDF. I exported the document, and it opened on my PC which only has Acrobat reader installed. Hope that helps.
