2002 F-150 Tranny Help

I have F-150 , 2002 year. Driving home today, automatic transmission going from 3rd to 4th , engine would only wind. Felt like truck was going into neutral. Would coast down to about 30 mph , then truck would engage again , then do the same thing. Also, truck will not go into reverse. Only 40, 000 miles on truck. Taking truck to dealership tomorrow. Would like some info beforehand. Thanks in advance

Not good, and your warranty is shot, I purchased an extened Bumper to Bumper through warranty Bynet for 1400.00. Well worth the $$$ for an extra 100,000 miles.

Check your fluids, have you ever changed your fluids??????

Simple. The OD band in either not engageing or is slipping.
There should be a code generated to confirm what the fault is.

Simular Problem?

Tonight I am driving home and the overdrive OFF light is flashing. When I get up to 50 the RPM's look like it is surging in and out of Overdrive. If I press the button to turn it off, then the RPM's stay off, but when I restart after stopping it goes back to flashing until I get back up to speed.

Anyone with an idea?
