Although I own an F-150 and I plow, I drive an F-350 with a Powerstroke Diesel to plow - with an 8' Fisher plow. Personally, I wouldn't ever recommend hanging a plow on any 1/2 ton truck for anything other than plowing my own driveway. They're just not built to take the beating - partiularly in commercial use. We plow apartments and shopping centers with a fleet of F-350's and still break all sorts of stuff. Attempting that kind of stuff with a half ton is foolish. You'll be replacing front end parts u-joints and transmissions so often it will scare you. The only Ford half ton that might be able to handle light plowing is the 7700 package.
