Alignment after Idler arm change

Hello

Will I need to get an alignment on my truck after I change the idler arm. From what I can tell by looking I shouldn't need one. I will be going on vacation after I change the idler arm so I want to be sure I will not experience any problems. 99 F150 5.4L 4wd

Thanks

It won't affect the caster, camber, or toe-in. There will be slight design variances as well as the elimination of previous slack. If it was previously aligned with a worn idler arm, you may need the toe-in moved equally on both sides, if the steering wheel isn't straight.

I need to replace mine. Dealer wants $200.00 to replace it. Is there anything special I need to know about replacing it.
Thanks,
Craig

No, it's straightforward. If you've done any front end work, it should be a piece of cake.

I just did my idler arm.Three bolts to remove and I used a hammer vs. pickle fork to pop it off the drag bar.The idler arm itself was $50 from murrys auto. You will need to measure between holes on idler arm to see if you need the 2 1/2 inch or 3 1/2 inch arm.
