22 inch rims on a lightning?
well ive been trying to order rims for over a month now and have had it.
All the 20 inch rims ive tried ordering, they cant get. But they offered a 22inch rim the same style i want for an amazing CASH price.
Now what are they affects of a 22 inch rim???
A very noticable drop in performance??
im going from the 295/45/18
to
295/30/22
will the smaller sidewall of the tire compinsate for the larger wheel???
all opinions welcome
btw the rims are very clean and plain, not blingy at all !!!!!
thnx in advance

I hate to see anyone do that to a lightning. Those 22's belong on a suburban or some ugly dodge. Are lightning wheels that bad that everyone has to pull them off and put the largest chrome wheels they can find on??
Just get the spinners and be done with it then. I see they are readily available!
Anyway.. just my 2 cents

i think you'll lose it across the board... i kind of agree with Lightningcrazy... but not really. If you want to make it faster, don't do the 22s and invest the money elsewhere (aka motor/suspension) but if you just want a sweet looking truck then go for it. after all it is your truck and no one elses so do what makes you happy.
edit: here's a pic of my old L on 22s.. and they do look a LOT better lowered. (not to say that your truck looks bad, but you gotta lower it now!! and silver rocks )

well this is my way of customizing a LEASED vehicle, i cant do any perfomance mods to it, and i dont want to lower it. Personally (and this is my opinion) the stock L wheels are just to boring from what i am used to. Ive owned alot of cars all which i haev added aftermarket wheels
I have a photoshopped pic of what it will look like, but i dont know how to post> Can i email it to someone who can upload it please?

My 22's are lighter than the same wheel style in 20's...but still the 3.5" increase in overall diameter had a huge negative effect on everything from launch, braking and espeically the ride. Before I lowered it -it looked silly like the one above as well.
Still, I wouldn't change it -it looks awesome to have the wheel wells completely filled. Get lots of complements and even with the decrease in performance I beat everyone that dares to give me a look.
