Officially, "STX" has no meaning.
I've read that some Texas dealerships started a STX marketing campaign calling it the "South Texas Edition", but who knows, they are most likely just making up their own definition.

Another good one I've read is "Sport Truck Extreme", but it doesn't stand for anything "official, just like XLT, FX4, XL, those letters don't designate anything except for their respective trim levels.

Regards

isnt STX like a sportier version of XL? i know on the old model STXs it would still have XL on the badges. ive heard about the texas thing before, but i never believed it, since STXs are all over the country. a friend was willing to bet me $100 that it was a texas edition thing, but i just need a way to prove its not.

I don't believe there is a verifiable way to conclusively prove what STX stands for.
I have seen many threads like this in the past, and it always comes down to what people 'think'.

I've asked at the dealership myself, and of course they don't know, but that's not saying much.

If it does have an official meaning, perhaps someone else will know, I wouldn't mind knowing myself, but I don't think it has any meaning.

Now turn off your computiner and go to bed, it's 3am

It is an evil consipiracy, the man is once again trying to keep us down! I happen to know some automotive insiders that acknoledge that the automakers have secret code.

For example, the RAM 1500 = Routine Authorized Maintenance (every) 1500 (hours). That's about every 60 days... coincidence?! I think not! Ask a dodge owner!

There are plenty more, but I fear for my life (the man is probably reading this!) and cannot reveal all - but I will not stop giving out nuggets of info until the truth is exposed!!!

Who's that at my door?!!! IIEIEEEEEE!!!
