I read on this other ford truck website about a 56 front end conversion kit, and thought I'd photoshop the front end onto a couple different trucks to see what it'd look like....

supercrew looks okay. a definate NO on the lightning

 

I was going to say the exact opposite!! The older front end goes better with the single cab and stepside bed.

 

If the front end of the L wasn't so long, I'd think it would look sweet.

 

I really like that look. If I ever wiped out the front end of my Scab I might look into one of those conversions.

Looks like something Fred Sanford would have drove. It looks pretty good on the Lightning. Looks like crap on the supercrew. Might look better lowered.
