I have an F250 SD CC SWB 4x4 V10 with about 6700 miles on it now. I've made the San Diego - Las Vegas run on I15 about a half a dozen times in the past two months (just completed a move to Fallbrook). The first few times I was averaging about 80 - 85 mph and got a little over 12 mpg. I had a cab high cap installed in Escondido and on the return trip put the cruise control at 75 most of the way and got 14.3 mpg - not bad for such a beast. When I had the bed full of book boxes and a 12' Uhaul filled to the top with other household stuff (mostly heavy boxes also), I got about 10 mpg going 70 mph and hardly felt the load I was pulling. I was still passing small cars on the uphill grades.
