Question ARE LSII Owners

Just got my new LSII mounted on my Dark Shadow Grey SCrew
While driving home, I noticed that the corners of the lid closest to the cab flare away from the contours of the body. I have not measured the gap, but it is definately noticeable standing at the front of the truck, looking back.

Is this typical of the LSII and similar lids, or is this something I should discuss with ARE & the dealer who installed it?

The reason for the flare, is for clearance when the lid is opened. The lid opens to about a 45 degree angle. Without the flare, the lid would hit the top of the rails.

A friend of mine has a SC and just put on the LSII. He has the same look you are describing. Anothr thing we noticed was when the cover was opened, the flared part rubbed on one side. The intaller hadn't centered it quite right. We loosened the c-clamps and re-centered the cover. Works fine now.
Awesome cover, I get mine in one week!

All the quotes from the reputable companies that I've called range from $200 - $250. Some simply said they didn't want to deal with it as it was a very small job.

I guess the way that I was looking at it was that I could dump X dollars into yours painted or buy a new one (and do the carpeting myself at a later date) for about $50 more. With that in mind, it was a fairly simple decision. Plus, with the new one, I'd get that remote lock for free (ARE Promo for Nov).

And, to put the icing on the cake, we just bought a house and we're discovering that we need 'stuff'. Thus, the 'RP Truck Fund' has been depleted dramatically.

There are alot of factors that I have to weigh in... and, unfortunately, the wifey factor leads the list.

Im bout to make my next "big' purchase sometime soon I think...Im looking at the Valentine One or maybe a tonneau or bedrug....I dunno?

Brad,
You caught me feeling generous. I'll give it you, have it painted for you, and deliver it to you! OK, I'm lying. Seriously, I thought you bought one already. Where in Kane-tuck are you considering buying one. Pickups Plus in Lexington has some good deals. They're on Nicholasville Road, going towards Man O' War. You may want to give them a call. Good luck!

I'm just outside of Louisvegas (Leeweyvul)... LaGrange (it's north on I71 out of Lville).

I'm pretty sure I've managed to secure the deal of the year on the ARE honestly. I doubt many could beat $725 on the truck for a new one...

*bangs head on desk repeatedly*

I'll call them though... I don't mind driving over there if they can hook me up!

LaGrange, but not in the prison right? LOL, I have to agree with you $725 is awesome, didn't you say it is carpeted and remote? Mine is manual and no carpet, so you probably wouldn't want mine on a KR anyway.
