Angry Well I wasted $2.50

I went to a local do it yourself car wash which was my first mistake. Then I was going to use their brush which was my second mistake. The brush was covered in mud and clay and rocks. I made a small pass of about a foot and put the thing back up. Told myself that I wasn't going to use that brush. And I had just put more money in the machine so I had about 3 minutes to rinse the truck off. I finally turned the machine to stop with over a minute left and just waited for it to go off. And to make it even worse, it was just as dirty when I left as when I got there.

I only went to the car wash because it had rained and my truck was a little muddy from the dirt road and I thought the pressure washer would help clean it better.

And you guys can call me an idiot if you want to. I should have known better than to even go there. I started a thread a long time ago about this same car wash, so I should have known better.

I have NOTHING against car washes as they can provide damn good water pressure as opposed to a regular hose at the house however; I will *NEVER* use their detergents or anything like that...

I've often gone to the local car wash with MY bucket and MY soap and only used water. Works great especially in the winter with their warm water.

I'm with RP I only go in the winter and I bring my own bucket..I like the brush for the wheels and wheel wells...If you need to use the brush..POWER WASH it ...Use the high pressure nozzle on the brush head before using it...It will get all the rocks and dirt out of it before you use it.....

I always bring my own soap and buckets full of water to wash the truck in the car wash bay before using their pressure washer just for the water... don't touch anything besides the pressure washer at their place. I do this b/c I am a college student and there is no way I am gonna wash my truck in the parking lot b/c of all the people that live here that would key my truck (and the hood has been keyed here due to me taking care of it int he parking lot) for seeing me take care of hte truck in the parking lot. I go to a church parking lot to do anything like that to my truck that I can't do at the car wash, though I break the rules and bucket wash at the car wash bay, but go late at night to do it.

I only go to a car wash to spray out the bed with the high pressure hose. Oh, and to pressure warsh the wheel wells and under carriage when they get really nasty. Other than that they are pretty much a waste of time and money IMHO.

Wow... I love my truck, but it's just a truck... I don't have time to bath it... It goes to the car wash, maybe twice a month, gets high pressure soap, high pressure rinse, and spot free rinse... Looks just fine to me... black will just be dirty in thirty minutes anyway...
