Re: Bedrug experts please reply...

I've gone about two years with an exposed bedrug (no cap), and I don't park in the garage either. I'll do my best to answer your questions....

1. I do not have a cap on my truck, so when not parked in my garage, if I got a bed rug it would out in the open, sun, rain bird crap etc.

How well do they stand up to the enviroments? Especially the freaking birds?

So far no the elements have not caused me any problems. I live in the soggy NW and have recently noticed a bit of moss growing in the corners. Like I mentioned though, that's after two years exposed.

2. Again along the lines of no cap on bed. How well does the bed rug stay in place doing 60 - 70mpg down the turnpike/freeway?

Put the tie downs on the out side of the rug. Tuck the sides under the bed caps. Use 5 pieces of velcro on the tail gate and front of the bed. Do all this and you will have no problems.

3. And once more along the lines of no cap on the bed. Anyone that has had one for a while and had it wet, from the hose, rain etc, have you ever looked under it and see any rust due to moisture?

Sorry never checked.

4. This one along the lines of being one cheap basturd. Where is the best place to get a bed rug, price wise (including shipping cost)?

Got mine for $305 installed locally. That's when s-crew's first came out. You should be able to much better.

Some down sides:
- They do not have the complete coverage like a spray on. You will see areas of exposed paint around the tail gate.

- The tail gate is not paded like the bed floor. I've racked my knees a couple of times now forgeting how hard the gate is.

- Bark dust and other slivery thinks are a nightmare to clean out. They get twisted up in the fibers and can be bear to get out. My detailer used a carpet shampooer to get it all clean.

Bottom line: Get the rug, you'll love it.
