This week’s Truckin’ Fast piece features a 2011 Ford F-150 pickup that we have seen before, but this time, he has added a nitrous oxide setup that has propelled his half ton pickup soundly into the mid 12 second quarter mile range.
This 2011 Ford F-150 is powered by the 5.0L V8 and the mod list includes the aforementioned nitrous plate kit with a 100 shot nozzle, a free flowing exhaust system, a cold air intake kit and a proper engine tune to bring it all together with the best output possible.
The details in the owner’s videos don’t specify what tires he is running, but considering how well he gets away from the starting line, I would guess that he is running something a little stickier (or a whole lot stickier) than the stock truck tires.
In any case, the 60 foot time of 1.94 seconds is good but not great – although that doesn’t stop this 2011 F-150 turning a very impressive quarter mile time. On the top end, this V8 pickup runs a 12.57 with a trap speed of 109 miles per hour and it sounds great doing it so crank up your speakers and enjoy!
"Before I was old enough to walk, my dad was taking me to various types of racing events, from local drag racing to the Daytona 500," says Patrick Rall, a lifetime automotive expert, diehard Dodge fan, and respected auto journalist for over 10 years.
