Ouch. If you’ve ever wondered what an F-150 would look like after getting hit by a train, now you know.

The unfortunate/unwise soul driving the truck was one John Blair of Conneaut Ohio. When John pulled up to the railroad crossing, the barriers were down and flashing, but there was a train parked on the middle set of tracks to the east of the crossing. John, and several other drivers, thought that that train was the reason for the crossing gates. So they drove around it.

What they didn’t see, was another train coming from the east at around 60 mph.

The other drivers made it across, but John’s truck wasn’t so lucky. The train nailed the driver-side bed area of the truck, sending it flying 70 feet.

Rescue services had to use mechanical means to remove him from the truck, but he only suffered minor injuries from this mishap. He also got citation from the police for “disregarding his duties at rail road crossings.”

John Blair, along with other motorists had proceeded around the lowered crossing gate and entered on to the railroad crossing. Several of the motorists that were ahead of John Blair were able to clear the crossing successfully. John Blair was not as fortunate and his Ford truck was struck on the driver side, bed area. The impact from the train caused John Blair’s truck to be propelled airborne. The truck rotated over one hundred and eighty degrees counterclockwise and was tossed about seventy feet to the southwest. John Blair’s truck came to final rest on the south side, railroad, right of way.

The CSX train that struck John Blair’s truck was traveling at 58 MPH. The CSX train consisted of two engines and nineteen cars. John Blair was wearing his safety belt at the time of the collision.
