Suck it Dodge, the Ford F-450 has been rated the best in class towing ability by the same people that rated the Hellcat engines as ridiculous. As of late, Ford trucks haven’t been receiving the same awards or accolades as they once were, going mostly to the Ram family.
But with the new generation of trucks, and Fords re-affirmation to making these the best trucks on the planet, the blue oval is heavily going after the competition.
The new F-450 Super Duty boasts a towing capacity of 31,200 lbs. Let’s just sit back and contemplate how much that actually is. That’s almost three full grown African Elephants. A fifth of the Space Shuttle. Half of a fully laden fire truck. Or like 17,000 Lindsey Lohans. Because who wants those in the cab???
The truck gets a meatier suspension, and a reinforced frame off a F-350. It also has a colossal 860 lb-ft of torque, which allows the truck to have that amazing towing ability.
There’s a bit of an internal spat between Ram and Ford though about the classification system, but in the end, Ford can still claim they have the best rig.
