Recall for 2014 F-150 for Air Bag Sensor in Passenger Seat
The final recall, to this date anyhow, for the 2014 Ford F-150 is related to the Passenger Seat Occupant Classification Sensor. This recall not only affects the 2014 Ford F-150, but also the 2014 Ford Flex for a total of nearly 135,000 vehicles between the two.
There is a potential that the front passenger air bag may not inflate in certain front-end crashes if an adult is in the seat and could increase the risk of injury in those crashes.
To fix the problem, dealers will widen the gap between the manual seat frame and seat track assembly, then calibrate the seat occupant classification system at no cost to the customer.
Affected vehicles include certain 2014 Flex vehicles built at Oakville Assembly Plant, March 1st, 2014 to May 31st, 2014; certain 2014 F-150 vehicles built at Dearborn Truck Assembly Plant, March 1st, 2014 to May 31st, 2014; certain 2014 F-150 vehicles built at Kansas City Assembly Plant, March 1st, 2014 to May 31st, 2014; and certain 2009 to 2014 F-150 vehicles serviced with a suspect seat track assembly repaired Feb. 17th, 2014 through October 31st, 2014.
