King of the road! The tougher and 700-pound lighter 2015 Ford F-150 is kicking butt in real life towing tests up Davis Dam in Arizona. The F-150 outperformed the best from Toyota, Dodge and Chevrolet in the tenacious, testing trials.

Ford says the 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine (below) boasts more than twice the horsepower, torque and towing capability of the Toyota Tacoma pickup truck with an identical displacement 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine. Can you say smack-down?!

The detailed data from the Ford test shows the new F-150 also outperforming the Ram 1500 and Chevrolet Silverado 1500 while towing a 7,000-pound trailer up Davis Dam in Arizona.

This is the same grade the Society of Automotive Engineers uses for its towing testing standards, which the 2015 Ford F-150 will follow the company claims.

Check out these impressive comparisons and results from Ford listed below. The 325 horsepower EcoBoost rules!

“The 2015 F-150 is the most capable F-150 yet, while shedding up to 700 pounds,” said Bob Fascetti, VP and Powertrain Guru.

“These two new V6 engines – the 2.7-liter turbocharged EcoBoost and normally aspirated 3.5-liter Ti-VCT – set a new standard for Ford for capability and efficiency.” Uh-huh. You can say that again Fascetti.

And if that’s not impressive, check out this vicious video of the new Ford F-150 going  head to head against the competition and winning – natch.
