Ford Tough. That’s still the Ford Trucks tagline for good reason. All manufacturers put their cars and trucks through a battery of tests to make sure their up to snuff, but the F-150 is a brand new truck. We could just hope and pray that Ford sniffed out all the potential issues before putting it into production… Or we could just watch the video.

They take the truck out on rough roads, of course, as well as a slew of other tortuous activities. One of them is a “Corrosive Bath.” Ford drove the truck through briny water to simulate the effect of salted roads other rust inducing scenarios. To speed up the effect of corrosion, they also sprayed the trucks with acid. Maybe that sounds a touch excessive, but that’s something reassuring to keep in mind when you’re cleaning the salt from the bottom of your new F-150 next winter. Let me put it this way: Ford put 2015 F-150 though hell so you can roll through it with the A/C on.

See what other trials Ford put the new F-150 through in the video below.
