Ford Bronco to be Auctioned at Barrett-Jackson Hot August Nights
Each year, Barrett-Jackson holds world-famous auctions in Scottsdale, Arizona; Palm Beach, Florida and Las Vegas, Nevada.
For 2013, Barrett-Jackson has introduced a new event in Reno, Nevada — the Hot August Nights Auction Presented by Barrett-Jackson, happening August 8th to the 10th at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center. The new auction will serve as one of the main attractions during the 27th annual Hot August Nights classic car festival, which brings in hundreds of thousands of people for its show-n-shines, cruises, drag races and concerts.
Here is one of the classics that will be crossing the auction block in Reno:
Barrett-Jackson Lot 121 – 1989 Ford Bronco Custom
This Bronco’s original owner has flooded it with $100,000 in extras, and now it’s ready for its stroll across the Barrett-Jackson auction block in Reno. This SUV will be one of the more unique auction vehicles at Hot August Nights. Here are just some of the highlights: Ferrari Daytona pattern in the MB-Tex seats, $25,000 in electronics upgrades; four-link, powder-coated DANA 60 front suspension with powder-coated Sterling 10.25 rear suspension; 10,000-lb winch … you even get a quick-release shotgun mount.
Drivetain: Supercharged 331 mated to a ZF manual. There’s a lot to digest with this Bronco. We’re thinking it would be a sensational shoe-in for the next low-speed chase of the century.
The Hot August Nights Auction serves as the replacement for the popular Barrett-Jackson Orange County Auction that ran from 2010 to 2012. According to Barrett-Jackson, the Southern California event outgrew its location at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa.
Hot August Nights kicks off Friday, August 2nd and Saturday, August 3rd on the Nevada side of south Lake Tahoe. The event continues in Reno/Sparks August 6th to 11th.
